What I love about the Specter Solar panels are that you can just hook up your smart phone or your Poseidon Pro battery pack set it aside on a rock or the ground and let it soak up the sun. Then I can get back to fishing or hunting. When hunting in the backcountry I like to pack the 8W Specter Solar panel in my pack, and then leave the 18W version back at camp either hung up on a tent in optimal sun or just anywhere you know there will be good coverage throughout the day. Some other things to think about when deciding which Spectre Solar charger to get is the size, weight and the adventure that your on. The 8w version being two panels fits well on small packs and only weighs 7.97 ounces. This one is perfect for the weight cautious hiker or day backpacker. The Spectre 18w comes in at 15.34 ounces making it still under a lb but you’ll need the power of the 18w if your off the grid for quite a while.
